Swamp Oak feathered bowl

I have a friend that has a wood business and he was going to throw this and another slice of a Swamp Oak burl out because they were so cracked. I grabbed them both up. This is the first piece I've used. 11" x 4", nothing dainty about it, 3/4" walls. feathered design burned in the inside.
Very pleasing to the eye......nice one! :)

Sometimes with these highly flawed pieces, you have no other choice but to keep them thick.....otherwise run increased risk of them flying apart.

.....and theres more, great embellishment.
