Purpleheart with koa and alder coins. Was challenged to turn a piece with a 1 inch opening. Cracked the rim at the final step so had to improvise to save the piece. Learned a lot for next time. I’m no Kevin Jesequel!
I like the way the 'coins' interrupt the opening. May be something to plan on and use in a future piece. Drilled?... plugs all the way through the wall - or not? However, probably too much work for the final result, IMHO. Maybe you should have just made a larger opening or turn it into an open bowl.
