Inlaid Holly

Holly with walnut and black veneer. 3" x 4 1/2". Turned green. A lot of time in and out of the microwave, then air dried and returned. For me, microwaving has been the only way of preventing holly from cracking while the rough turning dries. I'd like to know if others have a better way to handle holly, and would appreciate comments.
Looks pretty good Dale. I can't offer any help with the Holly since I don't ever get a chance to turn it where I live.

You might try posting your question about the Holly in the general forum. You would likely get a lot more answers.

Beautiful piece Dale. Sorry I can't help wth the Holly. Seems microwaving has some unique advantages.
