Spiraled Sycamore Vase
B

Spiraled Sycamore Vase

Finish turned green from section of log, dried, spirally carved and dyed with an airbrush. The piece was allowed to dry and move indoors. Movement was retained due to finish turning the base to retard end checking. Dharma fiber reactive dyes were sealed with 3 coats of Waterlox Tung oil and buffing with the Beall system. The vase is 7 diameter by 10 high.
Excellent job Bill. The piece is a real pleasure to look at.

After really studying it, it looks like the two flutes that end right up front at the top are just a tad longer than the others. Maybe it's just the angle of the picture though.

Thanks Ed. Had not noticed that before. I worked on insuring that all were the same, but maybe you are correct. Thanks again.
