Beads Vs Flutes

Before beading and fluting, these were two identical ash vases (10 1/2 inches tall by 6 1/4 inches in diameter). Then the one on the left, 5239, was beaded, while the one on the right, 5240, was fluted. Then both were identically dyed with yellow aniline dye and treated with black patinating wax. Beads and flutes certianly accenturate the grain pattern of the ash differently.
