Coral Platter

Coral Platter

10" platter from Maple. Undercut rim and rounded bottom, then textured for longer than I'd care think about. Covered with tunnels, channels and voids, as in real coral. Colored with thin oils, lots of subtle hues of green, blue, purple and magenta. This is a piece that has to be picked up and examined closely to enjoy. As seen at Totally Turning IG. All coments welcome
Thanks Petteri, I am sure you could do this and put your own special style to the piece. Maybe your rust colorings?

Very nice piece! As you said, it really needs to be picked up and held and touched. It feels really cool! And gives a definite impression of coral.
Great to see you again at TT2006 Ed.
