3.5" Cherry sphere with a couple offset splits

I like turning spheres too!
Your cuts are clean and crisp. How are you making your cuts?
Skew?
 
On this one I did most of the sphere shape but still had tenons on each end. Then offet 3/4" each end between centers and cut with Batty's vortex tool. Probably my skill level but the cuts I tried with the skew just weren't giving me the crisp edge I wanted.
