Escaping With Nature: Sphere 1

Here is a boxelder sphere in my Escaping With Nature series. It is 5" in diameter and features my signature double natural style with bark on two surfaces.

I turned it green and let it cure for a couple of weeks. The soft underlayer of the bark then shrinks leaving a wonderfully contoured channel. I then used a blend of Chesnutt Spirit stain and Transtint dye to color the channel. I then oiled the bark and void with BLO and oiled the clear wood with Osmo Top Coat.

It sits on a mirror which reflects the bottom showing off the Double Natural feature.
