Kumeyaay Snake Basket

This is a bit different than the traditional geometric designs done on many basket illusions. I wish I would have drawn the snakes head larger and the the body wider. 15.5" x 2". The Kumeyaay people live in extreme southern California and Baja.
Not crazy about snakes, Curt, but your technique is flawless. Where are you getting your wood? Finding a piece that large around here is about impossible.

@Jerry Maske , I've been making my blanks from kiln dried 8/4 maple. This is two pieces glued together. All the burn lines make it almost impossible to see the glue joint.
