Worked up a big batch of Magic Wands recently and thought I would share. They are great practice for tool control and forming coves and beads with crisp detail. Well, crisp until I sand off some of the sharp edges because they are going to get used by wizards and witches. When folks ask about how to turn very thin and detailed finials, I tell them to turn magic wands to practice. Low risk and probably using up scrap in the shop. All of these were finished with a rubbed in Minwax Fast-Dry Polyurethane. Woods include Maple, Jatoba, Cherry, Oak, and tree wood. About 12" to 14" long. Please remember to use your magic only for good and don't turn anyone into a Newt... they may not get better.
