Natural Edge?....1835 Australian Brown Mallee Burl.

Well, I guess you could call this a natural edge. I just caught a bit of the burl natural edge on the bottom of this Australian Outback Brown Mallee burl bowl. Completed 8/4/2022, 7 3/8" x 1 15/16", 1 lb 2.4, sanded to 600gt, Danish oil natural, Beall 3-step buff. Undercut rim. This wood block was purchased in 2019, and it sat on the shelf for 3 years before I decided to give it a go.

Now that I have purchased my Grizzly 14" G0817 resaw bandsaw.....I might have done this one a bit differently, but was happy to find that a customer wanted it just as it was!

Gorgeous figure .... very clean details .... re: NE --- I think that would be a stretch! :)
Every time I see the number in your titles I automatically think "year" (wow that's old!). Maybe 01835, or 1,835, or #1835 would help. Just bustin' your chops! :D

Thanks Tom.....:)

I'm not sure what else to call it, than "natural edge".......I'm open to suggestions!

Someone else brought up the inventory numbers, and I stopped numbering them and jumped up to about 2050 at that point. I still have quite a few numbered bowls that haven't been finished yet......so, expect to see some that will make you think of a year still in progress! There have been a few bowls that I've re-numbered because they were too confusing......1995, 2011, and such.....
