Natural Edge Bowl - 499

Quite frankly, I'm not sure what kind of wood this is. Was given a tree by a professional tree removal company who said it was Butternut. I have my doubts this is Butternut but who knows. The size is 11' dia x 8" dia x 6" tall.

If anyone knows what this wood is, please advise me your thoughts. Very sweet smell when turned green and easy to work. Very distinct markings within the bark. Wood sands nicely when dry. This piece was turned green to about 1" and allowed to dry for several months then finished turned to a consistent 1/16". Finished with Danish oil and buffed with white diamond followed by carnauba wax.
Don't know if it's Butternut, but it's sure a pretty bowl.

Too bad that someone cut it down. Butternut has been in a severe decline in recent years.
