Nora's Lidded Jar

I made this lidded jar for my grandaughter Nora's upcoming birthday. She is turning seven and I hope this will be something she will keep for a long time. Diameter is 5 1/2 inches and the woods are purpleheart, curly maple, oak and probably hickory on the handle. The lid has a slight taper so it won't get stuck during humidity changes. I used my laser engraver to put Nora's name and Year on the lid. It's always fun to try new tools and figure out how to integrate them into the fabrication and assembly process. Finish is Watco oil buffed on the Beall system.
