Oak Hollow Form

One of my all-time favorite pieces. 12" diameter by 2.5" high, finished with Osmo Polyx and buffed.
That's a really pretty piece of work, Michael. Had to have been a significant challenge to hollow this shape. Really good looking!
 
That’s a great piece - I can see why it’s one of your favorites. I’ve been trying to figure out hollowing under the extended rim though not there yet. Now that I’m retired I can play with it and hope to get there - the small entry hole and extended flat is a goal of mine.
 
Thanks for all the comments. It was hollowed through the bottom. The entry hole was about 1.5 inches and plugged with a grain-matched insert. The wall thickness is about a quarter inch.
