"OATS" CURLY Ash Vase

The wood for this piece came from a tree that fell in November of 05 (I think). Anyway, I saved one quarter sawn slab, planed it and set it aside.
I cut the triangles a month ago and finally finished it today.

"OATS" = Off Axis Triangle Stave
Diameter: 4 1/2 inches
Height: 7 1/4 inches
Finish: Water Based Polyurethane

And I CAN handle the truth!
Thank you Dave. I'm still in the early experimental stages of the concept, though I have seen some platters made in this manner. I have been working on the off axis orientation for about 10 months now.
