  Yeah, if I come across some timber I think might be worth turning someday, I’ll use a chainsaw to break it down into turnable chunks. If the log is larger than about 8” diameter, I’ll remove the pith to avoid major splits. Then I dunk the end grain sides into a tub of anchor...
