Pathway to Awareness

This piece has taken quite a while to get finished; 25,000 plus pieces in a somewhat random pattern. All pieces glued in one at a time, 144 segments per ring on my Tom Lohman gluing jig! Thank you Tom for helping me scratch that itch I couldn't reach before!! Woods are Holly, Maple, Bloodwood, Wenge, Yellowheart and Purpleheart. Size is 21.5" tall, 10'5" at it's widest point. The piece was fabricated in three sections, turned to 5/32"wall thickness and then joined together for finishing. This was done as a follow along project on the segmentedwoodturners.org webpage if you want to see what crazy looks like in detail! C and Cs always welcome; its how dummies like me learn!! I owe a shoutout to Lloyd Johnson for his SegmentPro software; I love that program!!
Holy $#%T, Russ! That's amazing! The size, thinness, number of pieces - and the form is outstanding (something many segmenters have trouble pulling off).

I keep coming back to this piece, Russ. It’s just so good! At the Chattanooga Gallery it was one of the three beacons in the room, along with Kevin Bedgood’s Inner Thoughts, and Don Rawlins’ still.

Just had to throw a comment here to say that it was one of the pieces that inspired me greatly.
