Sphere from pen blanks

What to do with excess pen blanks and small pieces left over from segmenting? I started with a 3" cube of cedar (very lightweight) and then glued penblanks around it. I used 14 different kinds of wood. around it then turned. I found the geometric patterns formed very interesting.

Turned this several years ago but Steve Garrisons soccer ball sphere posted a few days ago prompted me to add this. I love spheres!
