Spindle Turning

Spindle Turning

Some traditional turning I recently completed. The lighter spindles are the new ones I completed to match the darker ones that were existing. The work is for an historic home here in Maryland built in 1901. During renovations a stairwell was altered and as a result some additional handrail was needed. The contractor wanted to use as much of the existing as possible and just add the necessary section of new work to match the old and that is where I came in. The new spindles are Red Oak.
Very nice. My hesitation on multiple turnings is consistency.
