Red mallee burl ,round bottom ,rocks if you touch
Terry
My all time favorite shape. So hard to do, but you make everything look easy. Gotta love round bottoms on pieces, they make it fun to play with.
If you tell me you did this one with a skew I am selling my lathe
;)

I did use the skew as a scraper to come around the outside ,The grind on a skew makes the best scraper ,if you get a dig in the tool coves up onto the top bevel and sends the tool clear .A conventional scraper if you have a dig in pulls the tool into the work
So I guess I used half a Skew on this piece as its hard to sell half your lathe Ill let you off this time
Cheers
