Old growth Mesquite 9.25" x 7" Tung oil finish, Titled as such because I see an owl face in the pith rings in the wall of the base. I selected another crotch piece to turn for the cover hoping to complete the image and compliment the base.

Glenn, I think you need to add a knob to the lid. The curve of the form where it meets the lid looks like it would be difficult to remove. Maybe that's a good thing ... harder to get to the cookies! ;)

If you will look at the other photo there is a recessed knob in this lid.
