Twisted Bud Vase

This 8 inch tall bud vase was turned from maple. The top section was turned using a three-point multi-axis technique to generate the twist and the bottom half was turned round on center. Pyrography embellishments were added to enhance the bottom of the twist. The vase was bored out to hold a metal cylinder with a bottom (actually an old cigar tube) so that real flowers with water could be used in the vase. Finish is Watco oil buffed on the Beall system.
