Hello everybody! I suppose it’s finally time I write an introduction after having hung out in here for a while now.

My name is Clark. I am a member of the Ohio Valley Woodturner’s Guild and have been turning for about a year and a half. Most of that has been at the guild’s workshop; however, my wife recently gifted me a Powermtic 3520c as an early gift for (finally) finishing graduate school!

I have had some awesome mentors at the guild and in my father-in-law, Rex Burningham (some of you may recognize the name).

Time in the shop recently has been harder to come by recently due to a number of things but most excitingly the addition of our first child which is a mix welcomed trade off (I am writing this post as I’m up with him doing a night time feed).

My main interests currently are face grain projects like bowls, platters, and plates, but I am wanting to expand into hollow forms as well.

Welcome from a fellow OVWG member. Who has taught you the most from the club? I know most of the members well. Have you taken any of the classes? Hope to see you at a meeting one day.

Definitely John Albachten and John Hornbach! They are both awesome and really helped me figure things out when I was first starting during their Wednesday evening open shop hours.

I need to be better at taking classes. There have been a couple I have wanted to take but by the time I think to look they are always full! I just need to check more frequently!

Also, your boxes are incredible! I would definitely sign up for a box class from you! Haha I’m sure I’ll see you around sometime!

Welcome! You're in a great spot. I attended the OVWG symposium a couple months ago and was impressed with their membership numbers and your shared workspace. (and a great symposium) Quite a club!
