mmm, maker's mark, on of my favorites. can gout get a scan of the mark, it sound familiar but having trouble seeing it. I am guessing the 85 is the year it was turned.

Not sure but It may be the gentleman that did the article for the AAW Journal and judged the online contest on layered bowls. I know he numbers all his work and keeps recorda of who purchased them. Jim McPhail(sp) is his name.
