I have a jar of mink oil paste that I use on my leathers. Would it be good for wood?

Well, it may waterproof what ever you put it on. Can't say I have heard of anyone using it....

Well, Reed, if you've never heard of it, that says it all right there.
I have heared of people using animal fat as a finish. I might try bacon grease on a salad bowl, but not mink oil. It smells too bad.

It's made to keep your leather supple. It takes a long time to dry out. Probably not a good choice for wood.
I wouldn't use it. There are too many proper products out there to use to gamble on something like this.
