Twice I have used Mixol red tint in System Three epoxy with the resultant color becoming blackberry purple upon curing. It starts bright red but in a few minutes during mixing it begins to change color, both in the wood (bowl) and in mixing cup. Anybody know what is going on and how to get red out of Mixol red tint and epoxy?

You don’t mention which product from Mixol. This is what Google says:
Red Mixol can change color in resin
due to a chemical reaction, improper mixing, or the use of low-quality materials, often resulting in a yellow or orange tint. To prevent this, thoroughly mix the tint, use a high-quality red pigment designed for resin, like Mixol Fast Red 27, and consider adding a drop of black to counteract potential yellowing over time.
