Slow Speed Grinders w/ CBN wheels

Woodturners Wonders sells, or at least used to, sell them with or without CBN wheels installed. When I saw them at symposiums they were Rikon grinders with the unneeded guards and stock tool rests removed. This was when Ken Rizza owned the company. I don't know about the current owner.

Ages ago I bought my first slow-speed grinder from Woodcraft, the "No Name" model. I later bought a Rikon as a second grinder and used it with CBN wheels until I gave it to a friend. Both worked well.

I understand your request but it might even be less expensive to find a Rikon with traditional wheels and change them out to CBN. Having the aluminum oxide wheels as a spare can sometimes be of benefit when changing significantly the grind of a tool or making one’s own from HSS steel.

But here’s another place that sells w CBN attached. Bought my Rikon there. https://vmtw.com/vmtw-pair-of-8-inc...b48McseNBMbQuNabHLi9hp5iDHGmf7sRoCey4QAvD_BwE

While I don't own WTW any longer I am still involved and getting more and more involved again. I can set you up with a grinder and two CBN wheels. Call me directly at 770-856--6057 and I will give you symposium pricing. Thanks.- Ken

Not to change topics, but this is most certainly good news, Ken!! 🥳 I sincerely hope the situation there gets back on track. Best wishes for the business!

With this I now advise woodturners to purchase from WTW with confidence. With Ken's presence you can't go wrong. I wish I needed something myself but I think I have everything. (:))

(Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with WTW other than being a long-time satisfied customer)

Side note on WTW, the Slick Stick is the best stuff for the bottoms of your hand planes! I have tried a couple of different "waxes", and none are as easy to apply or work as well as the slick stick!
