Did you have some kind of jig?
Yes.
Looks like a lateral motion of the router tied to rotation of spindle? A mechanical connection or have you gone digital?
It’s all mechanical, with many variations developed over more than 20 years by my mentor.

Have you looked into Lignotec system?
I have no first hand info. on them but a lot things you are making look like some of there equipment.

I realise there are lots of variables but I'm interested especially after the recent article in the AAW magazine.
