Turning of the week for June 17, 2024

Turning of the week for June 17th, is Dave Landers' "simple goblet". There was some discussion about the proper descriptive words used to describe it......but, I believe @Bill Boehme called it best....it's simply elegant!

In Dave's words.....it is: "Box elder burl, dyed. About 10” high, bowl is about 3” diameter. Dyed (India Ink) maple stem. Lacquer finish."

VERY NICE work Dave! What is the stem dia, looks to be 3/8"? One piece, right?

The stem is about 3/16" at its thinnest.
The stem is made as a separate piece (maple, dyed w/ India ink) from the bowl and foot (Box Elder burl, dyed w/ Chestnut spirit stain).
