Gabriel Hoff's boxes are elegant, pure and displays a classic design. Regardless the wood species, he manages to create a beautifully turned box.

Spalting in any turned piece can present challenges, with soft spots and punky areas making turning and sanding difficult. It takes patience to work with spalted woods, and Gabriel has done that and more. He has aligned the box grain and spalt lines perfectly, making this box a treasure.

Gabriel, if you are not a master in box making, you are pretty close. Fabulous work. It is always a pleasure to see one of your turned boxes posted on this forum. "Spalted Beech Round Bottom Box" by Gabriel Hoff is my choice for Turning of the Week, January 6, 2025.
