No idea. But as I say, they are popular in Germany and have been available in the UK for a couple of years.

What’s the best skew chisel to use, The flat skew or the oval one?

Because all the catches are in the wide end. Once you've sharpened it down to the 10mm, they are used up.

It’s great that this community can keep a thread going on skews for four months. I am three years in on my turning journey, have tried a variety of skews, mostly by picking them up on the AAW for sale forum. Still deciding what works best for me. Nice range of opinions here.
I have an oval skew I was thinking about turning into a shear scraper. Wondering what folks think, would it work out ok?
