Has anyone made or seen a wooden menorah that is lathe turned?

One of my four 12 year students is Orthodox Jewish, and bringing home a wooden Christmas tree is not viable or appropriate.

Long ago I made one w 8 hand turned candlesticks of the same height but different woods, one more slightly taller for the shamash and pinned them together. One can make the candle sticks as plain or fancy as you wish. Ask him if he prefers oil or candles.

Turn or buy dowels, steam and bend them 90 degrees and cut to fit once cold. Drill the center post section before turning. Turn the candle holders and assemble.

Don't want to steam and bend, then drill the post and candle holders at 45 degrees and use straight dowels.

If you know what Tinkertoys are, same principle.

One thing about turning is you can make more ornate arms.

It’s funny how another’s project makes you think how you would tackle it. I googled and ran across this. Good luck and you’re the type of teacher all students should have.
