10-inch Padauk platter & mirror

I hate waste, so this platter blank also made a mirro frame. After rounding, I used a thin parting tool to rough-cut away from the outer edge and back. When the peice finally broke free, I moved the loop over my tailstock and proceeded to complete the platter.
Then used jumbo jaws in expansion to hold the frame while I cut a dado to hold the mirror, then flipped to finish the face.
Anybody else do something like this with bowls/platters?
