3D Illusion Segmented Platter

Center pattern made from Bubinga, Lati and Sapele Wood. Background is Walnut.
12" diameter.
Excellent glue up Ralph! I do wonder about a couple of things here. You have a lot of cross grain in this piece, some cracking might develop. Subtle color changes in wood types often fade over time and they might end up looking very similar in the long run. Contrast is your friend!! This takes nothing away from this fantastic effort but might be something to consider in future pieces during the planning phase. Well done!!
 
I’m gobsmacked! The design blows me away. (The craftsmanship is nothing to sneeze at either!). Awesome 3D effect!!
