Arrakis solar flare

Just had to share this photograph of my recent piece taken by our club photographer Lars Nyland. He did it much more justice than my kitchen cell phone shot from a while back. This piece, which I’ve dubbed “Arrakis” for any Dune fans out there. The rim is less than 1/8” thick. It’s extremely wormy poplar, about 16” diameter. Pattern cut with a router then filled with resin. The resin made the thin rim possible. Already sold.
