BTU Box

BTU Box

I picked up some split wood for my mother-in-law. One piece looked like it had some interesting grain, so I kept it to see how it would turn out. Its kin is providing BTU’s for mom’s wood stove. I think the wood is probably Maple. It is about 2 3/8” around and 3” tall.
Burl.....turned end grain???

I believe burl in face and end grain appear differently

James, yes, does certainly look like Maple. Nice save!

Love the wavy form of the box. Complements the grain beautifully, my opinion.
