Hollow Form

Hollow Form

About 3-1/4" diameter, 2-1/2" tall. Finish is wiped-on thinned lacquer.

Unknown wood... A couple years ago, I got some wood from the wife of a deceased turner. Apparently he collected wood as they traveled. This piece was just marked "Hawaii 2008".

It was a bit soft (not punky, but challenging to cut cleanly in places) and has some bug tracks.
Looks to have a lot of open pores. Some kind of Palm?
Maybe Emiliano A. will weigh in and enlighten us.
