Coil Spring
B

Coil Spring

Sycamore. 4-3/4 diameter x 5 tall. Helix was turned using a home-made thread chasing tool (pitch: 1-tpi). Then hollowed to make a spring. Finish is clear acrylic spray. Yes, it is a functional spring and not as fragile as you might imagine!
Bob-

A novel idea and great craftmanship on this piece. The coils, are they 1/4 or 3/8 inch in size?
