"Dumpster Maple" vase

Florida maple, saved from going to the dump. About 7-1/2" tall.
Had to add some inlace along the neck where splits developed after rough turning.
Soft maple has some wonderful color variety in the heartwood, and the incipient spalt adds even more. But what's that aqua-colored stuff? Never seen anything like it in the local trees ;). Bit of green calcium oxalate occasionally, but it's tough on the tools.

That's a great find and excellent job on the form.
