Laced Ash bowl

Laced Ash bowl

This is my second piece for "Beads of Courage. It's Ash that I colored and left the blue color in the open grain in the Ash. After shaping the piece and before hollowing it I drilled holes around the rim for the lacing and of the words "Beads of Courage." Next I drew and painted Garfield in his bed on it, then finished with high gloss wipe-on-poly. If I remember right there is around 13 to 14 feet of white leather lacing on the piece.
Fabulous piece gary, that look on Garfield's face says it all, just love the creative look about the whole piece, the form, the colouring & the lacing, Well done

Pete-

Thanks. It has been years since I had picked up a paint brush and painted. I guess that I started something and will have to do another one for "Beads of Courage" next year.
