Marblewood Lidded Box

This box is turned as a cylinder box with a slight curve in the profile. The wood is Marblewood. It is pretty hard to work, but with sharp tools and a light touch it turns nicely. I let the wood show and kept the design somewhat simple. Inside is hollowed and outside is finished with wax and lacquer. I have some very rare woods in line for some more boxes, so stay tuned!!
Nice one, Gabriel. Love the look of the end grain on Marblewood ... not so much for the side grain.
Thank you Tom! Yes, the side grain does look a bit straw-like and stringly. The end grain has nice marbling figure though...
