Red Gold Vessel

Red Gold Vessel

After I sandblasted this Red Oak form I stained it with a red oil finish. I had planned to apply black patinating wax but decided I better stop here. Oak has a habit of turning black in small areas do to the reaction between steel tools and the tannins in the surface. This piece was completely clean so it only needed a light finish.

Dims: 5 H x 6 Dia.

Andy It's got a great shape that really works with the grain. Although I like coloring, waxing and other fun things with Oak this one stands well without it.

very nice
