I've also had a few "ruined" bowls that were a complete surprise when, after years on the shelf, turned out well! I guess there is a reason why these failures sit on the shelf for years.....must be a subconscious feeling they still can be saved!

My knee-jerk reaction was to burn it - I was so disappointed to have 'ruined' it. But I just had too much time into it already. The 'remediation' took a while, but only a fraction of the time I spent on the first pass.
It’s a good thing you didn’t burn it Tom; I think it turned out great! The legs and the rim evolved nicely rattling around inside your dome, lol!! Way to stick with it!
