Sputnik Urchin Ornament

A hanging ornament done using a sputnik sea urchin shell. The finials are Blackwood. The ornament is a shade over 7 1/2 inches tall.
Kurt, I have never actually seen an urchin shell!! How thick are these in relationship to your egg shell piece?
This piece looks like a "glam night at the ball" it is quite exqusite indeed, watch your fingers on thoes detail edges

Peter, While I don't have measurements (although I should get some just for knowing), the urchin shell side wall thickness is huge by comparison to the chicken egg. Obviously that goes by species of urchin as some smaller shells from other species are as thin and as delicate as chicken egg shell. Just guessing but the urchin wall thickness is probably in the order of .050 to .075".
