Turquoise Rim
Todd A Williams

Turquoise Rim

Plum wood with a Turquoise & epoxy rim. 2” high 4.5” wide.
Hi Todd, could you explain how to made the rim? You indicated that you used Turquoise and epoxy, but what was the process?
So I turn the bowl normal, but leave the rim a bit wider than what I want. Then I cut a groove into the rim. The depth and width of the grove is made to hold the Turquoise/epoxy. I then remove the bowl from lathe fill the grove with the Turquoise/epoxy. 24 hours later I put it back on lathe and remove the wood up to the turquoise/epoxy giving you a new rim on the bowl.
