redwood triangle bowl 10" dia. at the tips x 2" tall.It was turned bansawn then carved. I turned it to give the illusion of a bowl sitting in a ring. Then I wood burned a little detail on the three tips.
Red Maple Burl, 10" dia x 10" tall. Finished with Danish oil, Mohawk sanding sealer and gloss lacquer. The gloos was cut back to satin using 0000 steel wool then hand rubbed to final finsih.

This bowl is made from Mgurure a very dense hard African wood that is a delight to turn and finish. It is about 5" by 1.5" by just under 1/8" thick. Finished with sanding sealer, Renaissance wax and then buffed.
Silver Maple bowl about 10" wide and 3 1/2" high. Walls are a 1/2" thick throughout. Finished with shellac/walnut oil based friction polish to be dry food safe. Holes were filled with epoxy and coffee. Bowl was sold before I could part it off the lathe. Wish that would happen...
