1982 Cottonwood Burl

Finished 12/5/2021. 10 5/8" x 3". 1lb 1.4oz. Initial MC was 14%, and after roughing without anchorseal, it took a total of 7 months before reaching stabilization. Sanded to 600gt, Danish Oil Natural, Beall 3-step buff. There is only one way to successfully process a piece of wood with so many large voids, and that is to eliminate the need for aggressive sanding. I attribute this to many things, but mainly my technique of "spiritual turning", in conjunction with my evolved process of super sharp gouge cutting edges through honing.
