1696 Curly Maple.

1696 Curly Maple.

Curly.....also known as flame, tiger, and fiddleback maple...depending on who is describing it. Original block was 14% MC, and lost no weight after 4 months. I could have finish turned this one in one setting, but decided some time ago to rough all bowl blanks and check monthly weights, just to be sure. Some with this low of MC do lose weight to stabilization, and you just can't know for sure, until you check. 10 13/16" x 1 5/8", 1 lb 0.9 oz, sanded to 600gt, Danish oil natural, Beall 3-step buff.
