Memories of the Past, Dreams of the Future is the title of my entry for the "Step up to the Plate" show. The idea formed early after last year's symposium. Every player from the young ones at the sandlot to the professionals in the major leagues dreams of or remembers the bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, and a 3&2 count. Here's the pitch, the swing.....it's a long fly ball....going, going, gone. They win the game, they win the game. The swing, the hit, the flight of the ball dance through each player's mind. The ball's path is represented by four different balls around the piece.
