Mom's Iris

"Mom's Iris"
This piece started as a wild, natural tree stump — unpredictable grain, voids, and raw edge character.
What came out of it feels something else entirely… almost like petals opening.
Hand-shaped, carved, and finished to let the wood speak for itself.
Every line, every edge is exactly where it wanted to be.
This one’s not for sale — it’s a gift to my sister.
And sometimes those are the best pieces we make. This one is called "Mom's Iris" as it was her favorite flower. The 'petals' of this bowl remind me of the Iris.
Approx 19" x 15" x 5"
